Mexican Sage and Cabbage White Butterfly

The Mexican Sage (Salvia leucantha) is a bushy salvia loved for its rich blue-purple sprays of flowers in the fall and winter when much of the garden is dormant.  The nectar of the Mexican sage sustains butterflies (like the Cabbage White butterfly pictured in this painting) and hummingbirds well into the colder months.  It's an essential in any garden that wants to attract butterflies and hummingbirds.  This is just one of Julie's studies of local Northern California flora.  While many originals hve been sold or placed into private collections, giclée prints of Julie's images in various sizes are available upon request.
